Hello friends and fam and strangers who have somehow stumbled upon this,
I often get asked the following questions:
When’s your next show?
What’s going on with your music?
What are you doing these days?
And while the intentions behind every question are SO PURE AND GOOD and I am thankful that people give a crap what I’m doing at all, every time I get asked one of those questions right now my stomach starts doing flips. Because to be quite frank with you, I don’t know what the heck I’m doin’. As my Instagram bio currently states: If it seems like I know what I’m doin’, please know I’m definitely just winging it. I have a lot of dreams and a lot of things I would like to do, but right now I’m in a season of figuring out exactly what putting my calling, my passions and my skills to use looks like.
I think it’s really easy to fall under the pressure of needing to have it all figured out. It’s really easy to fall under the pressure of needing to know exactly what you want and how you want to get it. But you know what? It’s okay to not know. It’s okay to take your time to figure it out. It’s okay to try things and then change your mind. It’s okay to shift your focus.
What I do know is this: I always want to continue to make music, I want to continue to play music and, most importantly, I want to continue writing songs. I want to continue doing things that bring me joy, like creating episodes of The Music Buzz, traveling and exploring new places that inspire me, and going to see live music more than the average human probably should. I want to use this blog as a place to share what’s going on in life, the good, the bad and the ugly, and share with you some things that I love or that are bringing me joy that may also bring you joy. Once I figure out what all this means as far as “what’s next,” I promise you will all be the first to know. :)
Sending you love from LoLo Land
